From foundation to finish, we supply Grey Eagle and central Minnesota with the building materials contractors trust — and the expert guidance to put them in place right the first time.
What We Carry
From rough framing to final trim, we stock the materials that keep projects on schedule and on spec.
Dimensional lumber, plywood, OSB, and engineered wood — graded, sorted, and ready to go for framing, sheathing, and everything in between.
Shingles, underlayment, fascia, and vinyl or fiber-cement siding — the full envelope system, sourced from manufacturers you've heard of.
Ready-mix bags, mortar, concrete mix, block, and brick — everything needed for foundations, walks, patios, and structural work.
Batts, rolls, rigid board, and house wrap — proper thermal and moisture protection for walls, attics, and crawl spaces.
Interior and exterior doors, windows, hinges, fasteners, and all the hardware that turns a frame into a functional building.
Can't find it in stock? We'll order it. Need lumber cut to size? We'll do that too — saving you time and a second trip.
About Us
Update Building Supplies has been a fixture in Grey Eagle for years — not because we're the biggest operation in the state, but because we've built a reputation on showing up, having what you need, and telling you the truth when something isn't right for your build.
Whether you're a licensed contractor pulling a multi-day order or a homeowner tackling a deck or shed, you'll get the same respect: accurate information, fair pricing, and products that meet code — not just the cheapest option on the shelf.

Why Choose Us
We live here, work here, and answer to the same neighbors you do. That matters when something goes wrong.
We don't stock discount-grade materials that fail inspection. What we sell is built to last — and built to code.
Our team has years of hands-on experience. When you ask a question, you'll get a real answer — not a guess.
Delays cost money. We keep our shelves stocked and our orders moving so your project doesn't sit waiting on materials.
"We've been pulling our orders from Update Building Supplies for years. They know what we need before we do, and they never make us wait."
